Reports on DownDetector
Many internet users reported that X services were suspended and they were unable to access the app. Additionally, the outage tracking website DownDetector has also reported the X outage. Around 1200 reports were logged on DownDetector at about 9 AM.
Previous Outages
This is not the first time the microblogging platform has suffered a global outage. Earlier this month, in August, X’s services were down for a brief period. During global outages, users could not access their posts on the app. Meanwhile, as news of the outage spread, memes about X began circulating on social media.
During the global outage, when internet users attempted to access X, they received warnings such as “Something Went Wrong” and “Try Reloading.” Although X’s services were temporarily disrupted, when we checked the app later, it was functioning as usual. Elon Musk purchased X in 2022 for $44 billion. Since acquiring the platform, he has made several major changes, one of which was rebranding Twitter to X.
