Sawan 2024 Ka Panchva Somvar: In Hinduism, the last day of Sawan, dedicated to Mahadev, the God of Gods, falls on August 19, 2024, which is also the last Monday of Sawan. With the proper worship of Lord Shiva, the month of Sawan will come to an end. It is believed that fasting on all Mondays during Sawan fulfills a person’s wishes and resolves many life problems. However, very few people know that it is also necessary to conclude the last Monday fast of Sawan with a ritual called “Udyapan.”
This year, the last Monday fast of Sawan will be observed on August 19, 2024. After that, the month of Bhadrapada (Bhado) will begin. This year’s last Monday of Sawan is very special because it coincides with the full moon (Purnima) and the festival of Raksha Bandhan. Why is it necessary to perform the Udyapan on the last Monday of Sawan, and what is the procedure?
According to the Panchang, Sawan Purnima will begin at 3:44 AM on August 19 and will end at 11:55 PM on the same day. The festival of Raksha Bandhan will also be celebrated on this day. The Brahma Muhurta (auspicious time) will be from 4:25 AM to 5:09 AM. Performing Jalabhishek (ritual bathing) of Lord Shiva during this time is considered highly auspicious, and it is believed that worshiping during this period fulfills all desires.
