Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 3: After Shah Rukh, It’s Now Salman’s Turn! These 5 Films Couldn’t Compete with ‘Stree 2’
The box office is buzzing with the success of ‘Stree 2’, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. The film has made its mark from the very first day of release. Released on August 15, ‘Stree 2’ faced competition from films starring Akshay Kumar and John Abraham, but none could match its box office earnings. The film crossed the 100 crore mark in just three days, bringing immense joy to the makers and stars. The figures for the third day’s collection are now out.
According to Sacnilk’s report, ‘Stree 2’ performed exceptionally well, earning 51.8 crores on its first day. However, there was a slight dip on the second day, with the film earning 31.4 crores. But on the third day, the earnings bounced back, with Shraddha’s film raking in 44 crores. Additionally, during the paid preview shows, the film earned 8.5 crores. This brings the total collection to 135.7 crores. Surprisingly, ‘Stree 2’ has outperformed five of Salman Khan’s blockbuster and superhit films in terms of third-day collections.

Dabangg 3 – Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg’ franchise has always entertained the audience. Whenever Salman Khan appeared on the big screen as Chulbul Pandey, the audience welcomed him with cheers. Released in 2019, ‘Dabangg 3’ was made with a budget of around 90 crores. In India, the film grossed 151.45 crores and did a worldwide business of 218 crores. On its third day of release, ‘Dabangg 3’ earned 31.90 crores, which is significantly less compared to ‘Stree 2’.
Sultan – One of the best films in Salman Khan’s career, ‘Sultan’ received immense love from the audience. Made on a budget of 80 crores, this film grossed over 300 crores in India and more than 607 crores worldwide. However, on its third day of release, ‘Sultan’ did a business of 31.67 crores, which is also lower than ‘Stree 2’.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Salman Khan’s highest-grossing film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ was highly appreciated both domestically and internationally. This emotional story touched everyone’s hearts. Made on a budget of 90 crores, the film earned over 320 crores in India and did a whopping business of 922.17 crores worldwide. On its third day, Salman’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ earned 38.75 crores.
Kick – Salman Khan’s superhit film ‘Kick’ was released in 2014. The makers spent 100 crores on this film. It grossed 231.85 crores in India and did a business of 378 crores worldwide. However, on its third day, this film earned 30 crores.
Bodyguard – Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s ‘Bodyguard’ turned out to be a superhit. Released in 2011, this film was made on a budget of 60 crores. In India, the film grossed 148.52 crores and did a worldwide business of 230 crores. On its third day of release, ‘Bodyguard’ earned 14.50 crores.
