New Delhi: The government is set to release the 18th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme tomorrow, Saturday, October 5, 2024. Under this, more than 9.5 crore farmers across the country will receive ₹2,000 each, with a total expenditure of ₹20,000 crore.
The previous 17th installment was distributed on June 18, 2024, where more than 9.26 crore farmers received the ₹2,000 amount. This means that around 24 lakh additional farmers have now become beneficiaries.
How to Check Your Eligibility for the PM-KISAN Scheme?
- Visit the official PM-KISAN website.
- Go to the Beneficiary List page.
- Enter your state, district, sub-district, block, and village details.
- Click on ‘Get Report’ to view the beneficiary list and check if your name is included.
E-KYC is Mandatory
To receive the installment, farmers need to complete their e-KYC. According to the official website of the scheme, e-KYC is mandatory for registered farmers under PM-Kisan. OTP-based e-KYC is available on the PM-Kisan portal, or biometric-based e-KYC can be done by visiting the nearest CSC (Common Service Center).
This scheme was announced in the Interim Budget of 2019 by the then Finance Minister Piyush Goyal and was later launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It has now become the world’s largest direct benefit transfer (DBT) scheme.
